To kick off July, the CLH team exhibited at the Devon Dementia Conference for the first time. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Caring About Dementia’. The event took place at Exeter Racecourse last Friday (1st July) and welcomed members of the public interested in dementia, as well as healthcare professionals.

It was the first time we have exhibited at an event like this and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The CLH team attending consisted of Eddie Bell, Director, Tim Jones, Business Development, and CLH Stand at Devon Dementia ConferenceGarth Ellis and John Leary, both Sales Executives. We were excited to get stuck in with the talks and workshops - keen to see what we could learn and takeaway from the day - whilst educating guests about our products. Visitors to our stand were particularly pleased to receive Krispy Kreme donuts!

The presenters included Geoffrey Cox, managing director at Southern Healthcare, Exeter, Teignbridge MP Anne Marie Morris, Andrea Sutcliffe, the Chief Inspector for social care at the Care Quality Commission and Gina Awad, founder of Exeter Dementia Action Alliance. The compère was Paul Nero of Radio Exe and the workshops covered a wide range of topics, from Dr Leo Clarke talking about Perspectives from General Practice, to Mark McGlade discussing Community Support for people with Dementia

The event was not-for-profit with all profits going to leading charity, Dementia UK.

We were delighted to meet an array of people from local businesses as well as some of the families our products support. The conference was the ideal event to meet other likeminded businesses also providing a first class service for those in the local area. We left the event feeling very proud of Exeter and the wide variety of fantastic businesses that exist to support people suffering from Dementia and their families.

The day was a great success for the CLH team, we met many interesting people involved in Dementia care and support. It’s very encouraging to see awareness and knowledge about the illness improving all the time. We’ll certainly be back next year!
