When it comes to selecting the perfect bed for your residents, there’s a lot that needs to be taken into account. With that in mind, below we’re going to delve a little deeper into what it takes to find the ideal bed that encompasses everything that your residents could possibly need in a sleep space.

The Best Bed

When it comes to choosing the perfect bed for your residents, there’s a lot that needs to be taken into account. As the previous posts in the series have mentioned, things like mobility, hygiene, and health conditions, like back pain, need to be taken into account when selecting a perfect bed for residents.

As well as taking these things into account, it’s also important to think about the choice between profiling and regular beds.

Profiling beds are electric beds that are able to electronically move, helping residents to sit up or down. For residents who are bedridden, or spend the majority of their time in bed, these types of beds are often the best option. This is because they make it easier for residents to get up and down, and if the sides are put up, can also prevent falls. This is important as falls out of bed can cause all sorts of damage, including fractured and broken bones.

While profiling beds can be a good option, some residents prefer regular beds. If a resident is able to get up and down unaided, a normal bed can be ideal for them. It’s just a case of determining their needs, and working out which type of bed is best for them.
