Earlier this month, Tim Jones and Garth Ellis, CLH’s Business Development Manager and Sales Representative respectively, attended this year’s summer Torbay and South Devon Care Managers Network event which was held in Paignton at The Esplanade Hotel.

The award winning Care Managers Network is a meeting reserved for Care Organisation Owners, Managers, and other service leaders. Throughout the year, quarterly meetings are held to discuss issues and topics that affect care businesses in the South West. The aim of these meetings is for the care sector to come together and share tips, advice, and best practice, while networking and learning more about other organisations and services within the area. Sponsored by Skills for Care, the meeting was focused around topics that are important to Care Managers.

The Care Managers Network says:

“We're not just another meeting, we are very proud to announce the Care Managers Network has won the Blue Shield Award for best Community Partnership by Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust. The award is testament to the hard work and effort that is put into every meeting to make sure we give all attendees, quality, accurate and useful information to help them in their care business.”

Attending the event to showcase CLH’s wide range of products and educate other attendees on how these products can be beneficial in care facilities, hotels, schools, and other sectors, Tim and Garth both had a fantastic time networking with care teams from across the South West, while taking the opportunity to learn more about the issues impacting care organisations and individual carers in the South West.

The event comprised of three speeches which focused on: ‘Healthwatch’, ‘Skills For Care’, and typical medicine checkpoints from a CQC pharmacist. During the event, Tim got the opportunity to say a few words and explained how CLH has software that can reduce a care organisation’s spending by challenging the usage of disposable items and looking at how alternative products may be able to reduce overall spend. He also spoke about how we can compare spend across categories with other Care Homes that purchase through CLH, which immediately highlights the areas where is above the industry norm.

Kelly Harper, organiser of Care Managers Network, then explained that it’s important to thank those like CLH for supporting these kinds of events, as it’s thanks to local businesses that care managers can attend these kinds of events with no cost. She then went on to advise attendees to speak to Tim and Garth about supplies and how they can help to manage costs more effectively without compromising on quality.

Tim and Garth both enjoyed the session and found it highly beneficial.

Tim said:

“We really enjoyed the session and getting involved with such a great network of care managers that are clearly passionate with what they do. We appreciated the opportunity to showcase how we can assist in supporting them, so they can continue with running their homes effectively and within budget”.
